Business Week magazine (www.businessweek.com) recently reported that Americans will pay an estimated $4.3 billion (yes, billion) to withdraw cash from ATMs this year as fees hit an all-time high. The average withdrawal charge for 2005 is $1.54 compared with an average surcharge of $1.36 in 2001.
